Condominium Remodeling

Whether you have just purchased your condo or you have grown tired of the look, you may want to consider remodeling part or your entire condo. But before you start calling contractors, you'll need to carefully review the condo association rules and by-laws for restrictions and approval processes. Most associations will require your proposed condo renovations to be documented and submitted for approval by the Board of Directors in advance of any construction or demolition.

Once you understand the remodeling process, you'll also want to consider the trade-offs that come with condo remodeling. First, consider how long you intend to own your condo. This will guide you in the determination of what makes financial sense in terms of the future resale of your property. Remodeling takes on many dimensions and the desirability of what you intend to remodel will have a strong bearing on the future sale of your unit and how much a prospective buyer is willing to pay for the changes you have made.

Kitchen Remodeling - New cabinets, new appliances, new counter tops (granite), new flooring (tile, slate, wood) and replumbing are the most common types of projects undertaken.

Bathroom Remodeling - New vanities, toilets, bidets, flooring, wall coverings are the most common types of projects undertaken.
